Our edge in Morocco

DI-Africa Morocco, a Casablanca Finance City member

When DI-Africa Morocco employs your people on your behalf (Employer of Record), they benefit from its CFC status. Without it, a work permit takes 2 to 3 months.

Employed by DI-Africa Morocco

CFC status · Casablanca
  • No ANAPEC certificate needed
  • Entry on a business visa, with our invitation letter and a CFC support letter
  • Employment contract approved in 48 hours
  • Income tax capped at 20% instead of 37%

Employed by your company

Standard route · all of Morocco
  • ANAPEC certificate: 1 to 2 months, unless exempt
  • Contract approval by the labour inspectorate: about 1 month
  • We prepare and track the file end to end

CFC status covers staff based in Casablanca. For a project elsewhere in Morocco, talk to us.

The process

Two permits, in this order

A foreign employee in Morocco needs a foreign employment contract (CTE) approved by the Ministry of Employment, then a resident card issued by the Police Prefecture. The contract only takes effect on the date of approval.

1. Foreign employment contract

Ministry of Employment, Taechir platform
  1. Eligibility check and, outside CFC and unless exempt, ANAPEC certificate
  2. Filing on Taechir: the document list (Form V) is generated for your case
  3. Complete file submitted and contract approved

2. Resident card

Police Prefecture (DGSN)
  1. Filing in person, with the approved contract and proof of housing
  2. Receipt collected in person, about 3 weeks later
  3. Card collected in person, about six weeks after the receipt

Good to know — if you enter Morocco visa-free, the contract and card must be started within your 90 days of authorised stay. If your nationality needs a visa, enter on a work or business visa, not a tourist visa.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to work legally in Morocco?

The employee can work once the contract is approved. Then allow about 3 weeks for the resident card receipt and about six more weeks for the card.

Can someone start work on a visa or visa-free entry?

No. Visa-free entry or a visa is not a work authorisation: an approved contract is required. Without it, the employer faces a fine of MAD 2,000 to 5,000 per employee.

Do we need to prove no Moroccan candidate was available?

As a rule, yes, through an ANAPEC certificate, which takes 1 to 2 months. Several cases are exempt, including directors and partners, employees of Casablanca Finance City companies such as DI-Africa Morocco, and some nationalities covered by an agreement. We check your case before filing.

What does DI-Africa Morocco's CFC status bring?

For the people DI-Africa Morocco employs on your behalf in Casablanca: no ANAPEC certificate, a contract approved in 48 hours after entry on a business visa, and income tax capped at 20%. Staff employed directly by your company follow the standard route.

Can the family file at the same time as the employee?

No. The spouse and children file after the employee, because the parent's receipt or card is part of their file.

When should the resident card be renewed?

Between 15 days before and 15 days after the expiry date. The approved contract must itself be valid for at least 6 months at filing: we start both in time.

Do people have to go to the Prefecture in person?

Yes. Each person, spouse and children included, collects their own receipt and then their card, Monday to Friday in the morning.

How much does the resident card cost?

The official stamp duty is MAD 100. Certifications, translations and the medical certificate come on top; our quote itemises everything.
